 Susan Boyle has just immortalized anew one of Les Miserables‘ song called “I Dream A Dream” when she sang it on a talent show called “Britain’s Got Talent” and wowed the audience and judges alike against their earlier skepticism. Just a brief trivia about the song, it was sung in the Broadway Musical Les Miserables by the Character Fantine in Act I. The lyrics are about lost innocence and broken dreams. Fantine is abandoned by her lover, gives birth to a daughter, Cosette, out of wedlock, is wrongly dismissed from a desperately-needed job, and forced into prostitution to survive and to support her daughter. It is sung directly after “At the End of the Day“. The 1980 french version of the song is called “J’avais rêvé d’une autre vie” (I Dreamed of Another Life) while in the 1991 revival, it was called “J’avais rêvé” (I Dreamed). Three of my readers has been asking me to upload the MP3 file of the actual live performance of the song, so here it is for all of your heart’s content. Be Inspired because anyone can dream. Like St. Augustine’s famous quote, I dare paraphrase in reference to Susan Boyle’s amazing determination “Late I have Dreamed Thee!”.

수잔: 도시라기 보다는...음...모여있는...그냥 뭐...모여있는 마을입니다.
질문자 : 나이는 어떻게 되시는지요?
수잔 : 마흔일곱입니다. (하지만) 이것은 제 하나의 단면일 뿐입니다. (I'm 47. And that's just one side of me)

Judge 1: 저기요~~ 이리로 돌아와요 수잔, 정말 감사해요. 의심할 여지없이 지금까지 제가 본 것 중에 제일 놀랄만한 일이 었어요.엘런 페이지처럼 되고 싶다고 거만하게 웃으면서 거기서 말하셨을 때 모두들 당신을 향해 비웃었어요. 지금은 누구든 비웃지 못할 것입니다.(without a doubt that is the biggest surprise I have had in when you stood there with that cheeky grin and said I want to be lkie Elaine Fay everyone was laughing at you. No one is laughing now!)   정말 대단하십니다. 믿기지 않는 광경이였어요. 환상적이예요. 정말로요. 그쪽은 어땠어요?

Judge 2: 정말 오싹했어요. 모두들 당신에게 좋은 인상을 갖지 않았을 것이기에요. 솔직히 우리 모두 냉소적이였다고 생각해요. 그런걸 깨닫게 해주셨고, 그리고 전 그런 노래를 들은것이 큰 영광이라고 말하고 싶어요.(I am so thrilled because I know that everybody was against you. I honestly think we were all being cynical and that is the biggest wake up call ever and I just want to say it was a complete privilege listening to that)

여러가지 주위의 어려운 것들,,,,

세상과 환경이 변하는 것 같지만 

사실은 내가 변하고 있는 것

 

우리가 하는 여러가지 일들과 이루어 진 것들을 마주하면서

때로는 운이 좋았다

또 때로는 내 실력이었다

라고 이야기 할 지 모르지만

세월이 흐르면서 보니

새삼 그것이 하나님의 크신 사랑임을

절실하게 느끼며 겸손히 기도드릴 때가 많다.

 

오늘이 우리에게 하나님께서 주신 세상의  마지막 날이라면 

우리는 지금 우리가 하는 일을 계속하고 있을 것인가 ?

그렇지 않다면 

It is time to change............

There is no reason not to follow our heart and our dream.

NOW ( Not any other time)...................

HERE ( Not any other place )................

Time is flying never to return....
